Hey Trader,

The futures and options markets do share some similarities and trade with many of the same fundamentals, but there are some key differences between the two.

Options give the trader the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell shares at a specific price.

Futures, on the other hand, require a trader to buy or sell shares at a future date.

If you want to learn more about the differences between futures and options, be sure to watch Josh's video.

WORDS TO TRADE BY

"Remember that the stock market is a manic depressive."

- Warren Buffett

Equity markets swing wildly from day to day on the smallest of news, rally, crash on sentiment, and celebrate or vilify the most inane data points. It's important not to get caught up in the madness but to stick to your homework. Even when there isn't a new trend developing, the market can make your head spin with its crazy swings in what should be a normal day.

Don't let it get to you. Get a good laugh out of the madness and go back to implementing your trading strategy. You can't let the silliness of Wall Street sidetrack your progress.

The market is manic-depressive with swings that you can't predict. Stay focused and keep working toward future success.
