Save that Strategy Guide to your computer; print it out and thumb-tack it to your wall by your trading computer; do whatever you need to do, but keep it in front of you so you can easily reference it. I find that having context of basic strategies can make it easier to trade them, as well to trade more complex option positions that are made up of components of two or more basic strategies. Between the two of us, we've taught (and traded) probably every type of option strategy known to man from basic investor strategies like covered calls, to highly complex gamma scalping or other techniques that a professional trader would use. Once you master these (if you haven't already) it will help us help you to achieve the success you deserve as a trader. I started down on the trading floor in 1993 as a runner (the most entry level position on the trading floor). Within 4 years, I worked my way up to being a "market maker" down in the pits on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) trading floor. Within a couple of years from starting as a professional trader, I quickly became one of the biggest traders in my pit. Then in 2005, the Exchange asked me to teach classes for them. They flew me around the world to teach individual traders and professionals alike. I found that helping traders was my calling, and I never looked back. In 2008 I formed Market Taker Mentoring and we've put over 2,500 traders through our classes. You may be aware, but I also wrote a couple of books on options: Trading Option Greeks (now in its 2nd edition and available in Chinese as well) and The Market Taker's Edge.

John's been in options even longer than I have been (over 30 years). He has worked for some of the GIANTS in the trading industry, including Goldman Sachs, 1st Options of Chicago and Lind Waldock. John has traded for a hedge fund and contributes frequently to the financial media. John is well-liked by our students, as he has a way of breaking down complex option-trading concepts and making them easy to understand, and more importantly, easy to apply to your trading to help make you more profitable. You'll get to know us even more as we send you more class materials and as you read our newsletters, or if you decide to participate in any of our educational training programs. That brings me to something important. One more thing to think about… In addition to the Option Strategy Guide, I want you to start getting used to a couple of other options analysis tools that we spend a lot of time teaching our students. Getting familiar with them will take you a long way in your trading. First, if you haven't already, get used to being able to draw Profit and Loss Diagrams for option positions. The Option Strategy Guide will help you with that. Also, start familiarizing yourself with "The Greeks" and option volatility. These tools are essential for your success. More than a few of our students have told us that when they learned from us how to use the Greeks and volatility their trading really took off and they started making consistent profits.
