Is this why they call it “crude” oil?

Hi Trader,

Know about the Suez Canal in Egypt?

It's a key area in the oil trade — this waterway sees several million barrels of oil passing through it daily.

Without it, any ships bringing oil to Europe from the Middle East would have to sail ALL THE WAY around Africa.

Unfortunately, a ship the length of 4 football fields named Ever Given recently got stuck in the Suez Canal, blocking this vital avenue for oil shipping.

But the weirdest part of the whole situation happened just before the ship lodged itself in the canal.

If you look closely, Ever Given charted a rather peculiar path…

A rather crude path, kind of like the commodity that flows through the Suez en masse every day.

(Hint: Don't Google it at work.)

Anyway, authorities have already dismissed the possibility the ship followed this inappropriately-shaped path on purpose...

Although I have no reason to believe otherwise (hahaha).

Regardless, real-world events like these cause temporary shifts in market trends that you can profit from within a couple of days if you know what you're doing.

In this case, prices are going up for obvious reasons.

I factor these events into some of my short-term trades — the same daily and weekly trades I share inside my Big Energy Profits membership group.
