Sell Alert: Franco-Nevada (FNV) Dear Reader, Today, we’re closing our position in Franco-Nevada (FNV). We recommended Franco-Nevada in April 2020 to capitalize on the gold boom we see coming. Because of the pandemic, the government has accelerated its money-printing, driving up the risk of inflation and making investors flock to gold to protect their wealth. FNV is one of the best ways to take advantage of this trend. As a royalty company, it doesn’t operate mines, develop projects, or conduct exploration. Instead, it provides funds to miners in exchange for a percentage of the mine revenue or the gold mined. That gives it leverage to the price of gold while reducing its risk. And FNV is one of the leading gold royalty companies in the world with a diverse portfolio of mining properties. However, due to the recent pullback in gold, FNV closed at $106.16 yesterday, triggering our 35% trailing stop loss. We still strongly believe gold will rise over the long term amid the rampant money-printing we’re seeing today.
