For a service that's supposed to be the. Next. Great. Thing... 5G has one HUGE weakness. "Without virtually every cell site and tower having a fiber optic connection... 5G will remain somewhat limited," a recent Forbes article notes. In other words, 5G still requires thousands and thousands of miles of "lines" spread all across the country... as much as 1,390,816 miles' worth, according to the Wireless Broadband Association! Worse yet, this mess uses wiring not all that different from the telephone lines Alexander Graham Bell first patented way back in... 1876! That 5G really is some "futuristic technology," right?
