This weekend has me thinking...

Hi Trader,

This weekend holds extra special significance to me.

As you know, today is Mother's Day.

My mom passed at an early age from cancer, and Mother's Day is a chance to celebrate her life and just kind of relax.

But I also spent time thinking and reflecting, and over the years I've realized something…

You see, growing up, I witnessed both her (a nurse practitioner) and my father (an auto mechanic) work their hands to the bone to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads.

Losing my mother changed my perspective on life.

I decided I wanted a different future than what my parents went through.

I have the utmost respect for the sacrifices they made, and I wanted to honor that and make them proud by breaking free of debt and creating wealth for myself — and my future wife and children.

And I would stop at nothing to make that happen.

Unfortunately, I wasn't a great student.

My grades in school weren't too hot, and I didn't have much of a chance at college.

But I've always been a disciplined and hard worker.

So I began exploring other ways to make a career, and that's when I stumbled upon the markets.

With few other options, I charged head-first into learning how to trade.

I floundered and failed for many years, but you can't stop me when I put my mind to something.

After years of constant studying, blown up trading accounts, and sleepless nights, I finally hit my stride when I decided to focus exclusively on trading the energy sector…

And I started winning consistently.

I was on to something — so I spent a few more years refining that strategy and watching my account grow like crazy.

Not being one to keep my secrets to myself, I launched Big Energy Profits along the way.

Fast-forward a bit, and here I am today, having reached over a million in trading profits working over the past 4 calendar years — all while getting to teach others my method for making money in the markets.

I still miss my mother.

My wife and I visit her grave every Sunday, and today will be no different.

However, I can take heart that losing my mom helped drive me to achieve a level of freedom and success I never thought possible while helping others across the world.

In short: If you look hard enough, there are silver linings to even the most horrible of tragedies.

Semi-related:

I love sharing what I know with people and helping them make more money — and that's what happens inside BEP.

I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day, and if you're fortunate to still have your mom around, make sure you let her know how much you appreciate and love her.

All the best,
