Sometimes Monsters are Boring (AA)

The stereotype for a Monster Winner is that it's exciting, risky, and played out in Wall Street skyscrapers over dramatic phone calls.

It's two minutes to close, Gordon…

But sometimes a Monster Winner comes from a boring company doing boring things while nobody's really paying attention.

This was the case back in February with AA (Alcoa).

Alcoa sells aluminum products.

I almost fell asleep writing that.

But on February 1st, it was a Monster Elite Bonus Pick.

It had quietly made a run pre-February but had pulled back.

The hope was that this sleepy company might see a rise if it broke above $19.29.

How did it turn out?

It rose from $19.29 to over $42 in three months.

The stodgy company went up over 100%.

Yes, sometimes Monster Wins can come from exciting stocks doing exciting things.

But Monsters can also come from surprisingly boring places.

Happy trading,

Scott
