In Another Blow to Gambling…
First off, no information was actually compromised.

So, that's the good news.

The bad news is that SBTech, who provides the online platform for many of the biggest gambling sites, had an attempted cyberattack.

And now many of those sites are closed.

Some of the bigger sites affected are BetAmerica, Golden Nugget, and Resorts.

It's really freaking weird. I mean, why attack a company mostly focused on sports betting when there's almost no sports going on at all?

They will now have to get the okay from regulators (who no one likes to deal with) to open sites back up. There's no real time table for this, but one (very optimistic) UK company said they expect to be back online by Tuesday at 8 am.

Like I said, VERY optimistic.

Hopefully, it comes back up soon. I mean, most of us are just sitting around with nothing else to do…

Investing
Not a good day for those invested in Japanese investment firm Softbank.

It was the largest backer of OneWeb, the company that was trying to beam cheap internet service from space.

And OneWeb just filed bankruptcy. Softbank had already invested around $2 billion dollars into OneWeb, which had put 74 satellites into space during the last few months.

Though Softbank hasn't said much, OneWeb is blaming coronavirus concerns for investment deals not going through as planned.

Just add it to the list of items the coronavirus has impacted, I guess.

NFL Ready to Allow Gambling?
How could this happen, you might be asking?

I mean, everyone knew the NFL took a stance against gambling, so why change now?

The answer is always money.

Well, that and the Supreme Court.

After ruling two years ago that states could allow sports betting, it started getting more popular.

And now the Raiders are moving to Las Vegas.

It was just too much money to lose.

And now we get the win!

How do you think this will look? Reply and let me know!

Gambling Tips
- No one likes to do this, but it's a good idea to set a time limit. Casinos thrive on the thrill and mesmerizing effect of gambling, which is why it's so easy to get in a hole.

It also allows you to get distance and not get caught up in "trying to win it back" when a losing streak happens. Setting a time limit will curb this tendency (and save you major moolah).

- Speaking of management, money is perhaps a bigger hurdle. It's easy to get caught up in the frenzy and excitement.

Getting all the money you plan to gamble out of the ATM ahead of time will help keep you from going overboard. You just gotta make sure not to back again and again and again and again…

Gambling Entertainment
There aren't enough TV shows that focus on the world of gambling, but there are some good ones.

- Stan Lee's Lucky Man, for instance, is about a gambling addict who gets a powerful bracelet that lets him control luck (oh, if only I had such a thing…). It is a British show, but you can find it on some streaming channels.

- Another one that was unfortunately canceled was Las Vegas. Luckily, with streaming available, nothing is ever truly over. This show starred James Caan and Josh Duhamel, where the two help run a casino.

Both are high quality shows that you can watch from your home!
