"Whatever it takes"-Fed goes balls to the wall against corona and sends stocks higher

The Fed is taking it to the limit, and announced 2.3 trillion in loans for small businesses; news that managed to send stocks higher, despite 6.6 million fresh unemployment claims this week.

All in all stocks had a good week, at the end of trading Thursday DOW was up 285, and the Nasdaq was up 214.  In particular the S&P closed up 11.5 percent week to date, marking it's best week since 2008.

Seems that the Fed's "whatever it takes approach," to the corona crisis and a slowdown in new infections, helped prompt the  "running of the bulls"we saw this week. However, jobless claims overshot initial estimates by 600,000. Rumors are circulating that benefit systems might be overwhelmed and that the real unemployment might be anywhere from 15-20 percent.

Investors will deal with many unknowns in the days ahead. No one has ever restarted an economy from a state of total shut down. No one knows if and when that shut down will end, and given that nothing like the corona-crisis has happened in living memory no one can use the past to predict what impact of that shutdown will be.

No one really knows anything at this point, just that were not out of the woods yet.

Eight regressive youth groups have sent an open letter to Joe Biden, containing a list of demands, that the groups claim Biden will have to submit to in order secure the youth vote.

"It is clear that you were unable to win the votes of the vast majority of voters under 45 years old during the primary," the letter begins. Saying that Biden's promised return to a "normal"time before Trump is "not enough."

"Why would we want a return to normalcy?"the letter continues "We need a vision for the future, not a return to the past," So, what's their vision for the future look like?

Well they want 100 percent wind and solar by 2030, free healthcare for everyone, incentives for states to release half of all inmates, free college education for everyone regardless of "citizenship status," and of course no more deportations.

Guess to win over these youths Sleepy Joe's speech at the convention should go something like this:

"In ten years I see the nations power grid will depend on tomorrow's weather forecast, we'll have serial rapists cured by their time therapy, even people who come here on vacation will be able to get a free college degree, and everyone will have third world-class healthcare all funded just by taking money from those evil millionaires and billionaires. "

Trump voters should take heart, if Biden cow-tows to the madness of these indigent socialists living in their mothers basements, he may win the youth vote, but he'll lose everyone else's.

CCP spokesman, and WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warns Trump to "refrain from politicizing," WHO funding "if you don't want more body bags." A warning that comes on the heels of Trumps recent calls to stop funding the WHO, and investigate the concerns clear pro-China stance.

The WHO has been politicizing this outbreak since the very beginning. While China white washing warnings about the virus, burning reasearch that proved its existence and shuffling doctors off to prision, Ghebreyesus was singing their praises. He claimed that China's actions had "set a new standard for outbreak response," and lauded them for their "transparency." When China made up a story that the US Army was responsible for COVID, without any evidence, Ghebreyesus said nothing.

But when Trump moved to halt travel from China, Ghebreyesus said such moves weren't "evidence based." When Trump referred to COVID as a "Chinese virus," Ghebreyesus was quick to retort "viruses don't have nationalities."

Clearly there's a double standard at work.

Ghebreyesus has been accused of having some experience in covering up outbreaks to protect cruel regimes. Perhaps that's why China wanted him for the job and why they helped him get it. Now China's using the WHO as a platform to generate headlines and spread disinformation

Given all this, Trumps move to block WHO funding and investigate isn't political-it's necessary.

From Fort Worth to Helsinki, Toilet Paper cakes are saving the day at bakeries struggling to deal with the corona crisis.

Both Fort Worth's, Loft 22 and Helsinki's

Ronttosrouva Bakery saw a massive wave of orders canceled over these past weeks. Given the cancelations it seems that people have enough cake-but not enough toilet paper, and so both bakery owners caught onto a simple idea-why not make cakes shaped like toilet paper?

Tareka Lofton of Loft 22 posted several pictures of the cakes on her instagram "Got tissue rolls?? We do. In cake, that is." Her posts spurred a wave of likes on social media and an influx of orders.

Far across the pond, Ronttosrouva bakery has seen such sucess with the idea, that they've even hired two extra staff members to help them make bog roll cakes. "For us it's a game changer and I am relieved because I know all my employees are safe for months now," said bakery owner Saana Lampinen.
