Weekly Rundown: Yes, Dogecoin Is on Fire. But Don’t Fall for the Hype

FUTURE OF WEALTH
Hey traders, Lance Ippolito here! Welcome to our Weekly Rundown, where we'll share some of our top trading ideas — and our biggest winners!

I was in the backyard enjoying the weather with some wine earlier this week, and decided it was time to play a favorite game of mine… and yours — Bang, Buy, Bust!

For the uninitiated, this is where I pick three stocks: one to bang for quick profits, one to buy and hold, and one stock that's a bust…  a pig stock, if you will.

And for this installment, I'm going to mix things up a little. You see, my latest "Bust" isn't a stock at all. No, sir.

For this one, we're going to hit on one of the market's hottest sectors — cryptocurrency. And, specifically, the Dogecoin hype train…

The internet isn't going to be happy about this one…

◾ Bang: Twitter Inc. (NYSE: TWTR) — The bird has been pulling back this week (and Cathie Wood keeps buying… maybe losing her touch?) and took a massive hit on earnings. Which, to me, is a great set up for a quick "bang." After a few days of pulling back, stocks tend to have a "dead cat bounce." Nothing crazy, just back up to maybe $59, $60 a share. We get in early on the bounce and get out for quick profits!

◾ Buy: All we're hearing is inflation, inflation, inflation… So how do I want to combat that? With silver. Specifically, the iShares Silver Trust (NYSEArca: SLV). Yes, I know it's a little boring, but the Federal Reserve has printed so much money that I like silver and gold a lot right now as an inflation hedge. I stick to the SLV here so I don't have to worry about earnings and other factors that could sink individual stocks.

◾ And finally... Bust: Obviously, it's Dogecoin (DOGE) — I can't say the crypto born from a meme isn't paying off great in the short term, but… it's still a bust. Prior to Tesla CEO Elon Musk mentioning it on Twitter, the crypto dropped over 50% before "soaring" again… to a whole $0.60 a coin... Do we really think that huge jump can be sustained? I sure don't. While I would never hit an animal, it's time to bust this doge...

BIG Wins

It was another busy week of earnings for the ol' Blitz scanner, and we had a few more big winners from our Weekly Blitz Alerts

Materials have been strong this earnings season with Alcoa Corp. setting the tone and reporting great numbers and boosting the sector. Tronox Holdings PLC (NYSE: TROX) is a titanium company that saw repeat bets in calls for an upside breakout. That paid off with a nice 52% pop in just over a week!

  • +52% on TROX Tronox May 21 $21 CALL
  • Entered on April 27 at $1.70 a contract.
  • Exited on May 6 at $2.60 a contract

On Friday, Blitz subscribers were able to follow that up with another quick 50% win on Barclays PLC (NYSE: BCS) in just a couple of days.

  • +50% on BCS Barclay's  June 18 $9 CALL
  • Entered on May 4 at $0.80 a contract.
  • Exited on May 7 at $1.20 a contract

On Thursday, the Blitz Tracker spotted some big May and June calls hitting the tape in Juniper Networks Inc. (NYSE: JNPR). Market makers hit the May $27 calls for 1,890 contracts, followed by two more rounds of 500 and 400, with 800 plus of the June calls trading as well. Less than two hours after I sent readers the buy order, JNPR earned a mention on CNBC's "Halftime Report," good for a quick spike in the stock. As always, when a trade gets mentioned on TV, we take profits.

  • +36% on the JNPR May 21, 2021 $27 Calls
  • Entered on May 6 at $0.55 a contract.
  • Exited on May 6 at $0.75 a contract

Be sure and check out our Weekly Blitz Alerts service for more BIG winners like this!

Big Debt + 83% Crash + Dividend Cuts = 157% Return?

What do an 83% stock price dip, dividend cuts and swimming in debt all have in common?
They were all the news about Apache Corp. in April 2020.

But with those headlines, how did I know to buy in at that time…

And walk away with a 157% return just over a month later?

I just waited for this.
